60 Years Apart

Sunday, June 16 –

Eighty-five years ago today was Granny’s birthday. Twenty-five years ago was Laredo’s birthday. They are exactly 60 years apart.

We all got together at Sunny’s today to celebrate these two birthdays, Courtney’s birthday, which is the 17th, and Father’s Day as well.

The menu included Mexican stack with all the trimmings, Sunny’s famous hot sauce, watermelon, a delicious chocolate cake by Courtney and a yummy lime cheesecake made by Andrea.

Everyone enjoyed playing with all the little ones and new baby, Magnus.

Here’s a little sample of the fun:

Bella and Axel Birthday Bash

Saturday, September 1 –

Cim and Courtney hosted a party to celebrate Bella’s 2nd birthday and Axel’s 1st birthday.

Courtney made a cake that was half Axel’s and half Bella’s

Cimarron’s Surprise Party

Saturday, May 19 –

To celebrate Cim’s 26th birthday, Courtney planned a surprise party for him. It was held at the fellowship hall of the Matador church of Christ. Cim thought they were stopping by to pick up something that was left there on their way to the ranch for supper. I think she did manage to surprise him. At least he looked surprised when he heard everyone shout, “Happy Birthday”.

She made a really amazing cake that looked like barbell weights stacked one on the other.

We had hamburgers and hot dogs to go with the cake, too. Everybody chipped in. It was quite a feast.

The Costumes

Saturday, November 7 –

Here’s some photos of the Shannon bunch in their costumes for the dance. We hadn’t dressed up in a while, it was fun.

Two medieval princesses are always better than one. Actually, Aspen is recreating a character from a Waterhouse painting, Ophelia.

Wedding Reception in Levelland

Sunday, June 14 –

We had a fun time visiting the Brashears over in Levelland and wishing their nephew Christopher and new wife Cami a happy marriage. The menu featured BBQ brisket and all the trimmings. Their beautiful party barn and outdoor space was the perfect place for entertaining.

As the party was breaking up, approaching storms were darkening the western skies. When we got to Lubbock, this incredibly awesome shelf cloud was covering the skies.

Family Dance at Turkey

Saturday, February 14 –

A fun evening was had by all. Lots of music, dancing and food–what’s not to like? Thank you to all who came. It’s not easy to get homeschoolers together, we’re all so spread out, but it’s worth the effort when you see the kids having so much good, clean fun. Besides, we all know homeschoolers need lots of socialization…

Josiah’s Birthday Party

Thursday, February 5 –

Just a little get together over at the Phipps to celebrate the big occasion.

Christmas at the Pringle’s (almost)

For the last few years we have enjoyed our Christmas get-togethers at Misty and Kevin’s. Again this year we were looking forward to it. However, at the last minute (due to unforeseen plumbing issues) we had to move the party to mom’s house.

It was as fun as ever. Lots of food, family and love.

Christmas Caroling

Tuesday, December 23 –

A group of young people braved the freezing weather tonight to visit a few homes around town and do some caroling. When they got back, the ladies of the church had snacks and hot drinks ready. They sang a couple of songs for us. Very lovely. Afterwards, they stayed late and played cards and games for a while.

Homecoming Dance

Saturday, June 14, 2014

We had a great turn out on Saturday at the Turkey Gym. We loved seeing so many of our friends, old and new, having fun together. It was a little hot, but that didn’t stop the dancers.
